Donny’s Kosher Deli

Started by Donny Kaszovitz, Donny’s Mediteerranean Gourmet Food & Deli is a glatt kosher restaurant located in the Summerton Plaza on Route 9 South in Manalapan, NJ. Born in Ashkelon, Israel, Donny has been a Marlboro resident since 1984 and realizes the need for authentic Israeli and Middle Eastern cuisine in the Western Monmouth area.

Donny has a rich and varied entrepreneurial background. An English and pre-med major from Hunter College, Donny has owned a coin-operated laundry business (ultimately growing to 10 locations) and ran a business that employed overseas nurses in the healthcare industry in the US. In 2015, Donny decided to follow his passion for cooking and share that love with the community, while also filling an important niche.

With seating for 18 and a brisk takeout business, the menu features Mediterranean selections as well as traditional Eastern European cooking, including Hungarian-style goulash and schnitzel. All of the traditional recipes are personally prepared by Donny, using recipes he learned from his mother. Donny also has a professional chef who prepares all the Mediterranean specialties. Falafel, shawarma, hummus, tahini, babaganoush, various kabobs, Turkish salads and more are made fresh daily from Donny’s kitchen.
